Description
In La Orotava, for 17 editions, the nativity scenes have been prepared with great dedication and affection, attracting thousands of visitors every year. With this guided tour, a wonderful Christmas plan awaits you: a guide will take you to visit different nativity scenes in the historic center, revealing the details and curiosities of each of these treasures created by the nativity scene makers.
You'll get to see one of the largest nativity scenes in the Canary Islands, which takes up the entire town hall square, as well as other nativity scenes in Hebrew, traditional Canarian, and Neapolitan styles, and even a very modern one made with Playmobil.
The Taoro Villa de La Orotava Nativity Scene Association was founded in 2008 and has over 70 members. Their goal is to rescue, care for, and promote the tradition of setting up a Nativity scene every Christmas.
