Directions to Jungle Park Las Aguilas
Looking for a world class menagerie and more, then head for the Las Aguilas Jungle Park in Tenerife located just a short free bus ride away from pick up points in the main resorts. The sub-tropical climate allows for a wide variety of animals - more than 500 - to be displayed in natural habitats that make them feel at home in over 75,000m sq.
Of course it's got the headliners of lions and tigers but you will also see leopards, jaguars and pumas. The same can be said of the 'monkeys' (primates) with over 10 different species to entertain you with their 'antics'! On the aquatic front, penguins from the temperate waters of the South Pacific bask all day interrupting their routine with the occasional dip in the pool and feeding time. Pigmy hippos and those menacing crocodiles are amongst many more creatures to complete the picture.
However, the show stealers are the birds! Why? Because unlike 'normal' zoos our feathered friends are allowed to demonstrate their prowess twice a day in the spectacular Bird of Prey show. Eagles and Vultures with 6ft wingspans swooping head high in eerily silence... no tethers to hold them back!
Not be outdone by swooping birds you can also see 'swooping' humans in the form of a High Dive show. From a 'plank' 25m high (82ft in old money) four athletes treat you to a 'death defying' series of dives, somersaults and twists into the equivalent of an inflatable summer pool for the garden...don't try this at home!
As if that wasn't enough you can be a dare devil yourself by trying the Jungle Raid which is a 300m course of rope swings and bridges. Once you have completed the 'raid' why not try the Bob(sleigh). Through trees and over jungle tracks this 800m ride requires skill and determination to handle what is effectively a 'tea tray on wheels'... oh yes!
It's a jungle out there as the saying goes!
