Directions to The Terrace Bar
Unsurprisingly the best bars and restaurants in Tenerife are those who offer value for money, go all out to keep everybody entertained (including children) and don't mind taking a few risks to keep a loyal following interested.
Andy, owner of The Terrace Bar, Amarilla Golf, manages to achieve all that and stands as a shining example of a Tenerife businessman who is prepared to put a lot of work in, to get the most out his business. His success is evident in the number of people who travel from all over the south of Tenerife to frequent this popular watering hole.
The Terrace Bar is complemented by The Palm's Bistro, a dining venue with a great atmosphere serving delectable dishes made from fresh ingredients. Let the hospitable staff take care of you while you take in the views. The hardest thing you'll have to do is decide what to eat! Choose from prime cuts of meats, fresh seafood and fish, Canarian specialties, a range of pizzas or plentiful vegetarian options.
Sunday is the big day for the bar, with a full afternoon and evening of entertainment. It's one of the few places that resolves the problem of where to take children in Tenerife on a Sunday afternoon. While the mums and dads can drink and chat in peace, the kids can go wild on the bouncy castle, get their faces painted, marvel at the talents of Russ the balloon-animal maestro, and join in the other fun and games that Andy and his staff put on for the younger patrons.
Sunday is also 'session' day, so from around 2pm you can listen to live music from some of the island's best bands while sat in the sun with a frosty glass or three. The music ranges from blues and soul, right through to pop and rock. Dancing has been known to break out on the terrace on particularly rocking afternoons.
Sports fans are catered for with regular Premiership and International football, international and club rugby, golf, cricket and motor racing on the agenda. If you prefer to participate in a little sporting action yourself, show off your skills at table tennis or pool.
And while you're basking in the sunshine enjoying a cool beer, you could always treat the family to some food from The Palm's Bistro menu, open from 6pm till 10pm (please note - the restaurant is closed Sunday).
In summer, the BBQ is fired up, offering a range of grilled meats and snacks. A Tapas with a Twist menu features interesting variations of Spanish-themed food, good for a full meal or alcohol-induced munchies. And talking of alcohol, popular draft beers and ciders are available along with a huge choice of cocktails, to be sipped either inside at the bar, on comfy leather sofas or outside on the massive sea-view terrace.
Once a month Andy goes to town and throws a massive themed party, which is always packed out, including Halloween, Independence Day, Carnival, St. Patrick's Day and many others. Keep your eye on our Tenerife events section for what's coming up next.
Tenerife party venue
If you're planning a party or a special event, Andy and the team will gladly take the strain out of hosting and organising it. With a large bar area and massive tiered terrace they can easily cater for parties of all sizes, whether it's a kids birthday party, a wedding celebration or a special birthday bash. On the food front The Terrace Bar and The Palm's Bistro can supply a buffet or a full menu on request, and for entertainment they can organise one of the islands top acts for you, a DJ, or both. For a kids birthday party in Tenerife, they can provide a bouncy castle and a kid's entertainer who will organise games, treasure hunts and face painting etc.
