Taberna Iruña Tenerife

Spanish Mediterranean Tapas Beach
Taberna Iruña Tenerife doesn’t mess around with unnecessary flair. It’s informal, welcoming and right at your fingertips when you want proper Spanish tapas with a side of ocean views. Set in Costa Adeje, this little gem delivers top-notch raciones, tapas and picoteo, all overlooking the beach.

The menu nods to Northern Spain, offering a taste of Basque and wider Spanish cuisine - think classics done well, without fuss. And yes, that cheeky cachopo (see FAQs below) on the menu - big, cheesy and meaty - is well worth the calories. Good news if that’s your thing: the place caters to vegetarians, vegans and gluten‑free diners too.

Absolutely amazing, we are four very fussy eaters and every one of us loved it. Very traditional proper tapas and we will struggle eat anywhere else it was so good.

Beautiful location to watch the sunset with even better food and wine, staff lovely, have been back to try lots of dishes over many days, absolutely fantastic day especially the cheesecake.

Sunsets, local wines, top notch tapas basque cuisine, you can clearly tell it's all homemade. Very friendly staff 11/10

Family run, very friendly & great location by the sea. Very passionate about the food & northern Spain the where the family originated. Wonderful tapas & lovely sangria. We loved it so much, booked for tonight. You want authentic Spanish food then this is the place. Daniel and team were lovely.

What is cachopo?

Cachopo is a classic dish from Asturias, in northern Spain. Think of it as Spain’s answer to a supersized schnitzel - two large fillets of meat (usually beef, but sometimes pork or even fish) sandwiching a generous filling of ham and cheese, then coated in breadcrumbs and fried until golden. The result? Crispy outside, juicy inside, and big enough to share (although some people give it a brave solo try). In recent years, chefs have started getting creative, swapping fillings for mushrooms, peppers, seafood, or even truffle. Taberna Iruña has award-winning cachopos - including beef, fish, and a Cordon Bleu twist - so they’re a bit of a local star dish.
