Description
Escape the busy city center of Puerto de la Cruz and discover our sustainable permaculture finca located in one of Puerto’s green lungs between the sea and Teide. Surrounded by more than 250 plant species, you will explore ecological diversity and learn why it is so advantageous compared to classical monoculture. You will discover our food forest and our market garden, visit the plant nursery, learn about our plant-based water filter and recycling methods, and try a fresh snack from our own garden in the greenhouse under passion fruit vines.
Patrick, co-founder of the finca, will personally guide you not only through the garden, but also through the vision. In our syntropic food forest you will discover a multilayer ecosystem with exotic fruit trees. Between the cultivation beds, we consciously take time to consider the ground beneath our feet. Using a vivid model, we show you what hides beneath the surface and why healthy soil is the foundation of all our work. Moreover, we will dive into details about the banana plant and how it can be integrated into a thriving, resource-efficient overall system without the use of chemical fertilisers or pesticides. From colourful banana varieties and spicy chillies, to conservation techniques and the permaculture principles we live by, you will get exclusive insights behind the scenes.
We aim to inspire you by our lived vision of a sustainable and desirable world for future generations.
