Friday afternoon. The sun's dropping, the weekend has officially arrived and sitting indoors suddenly seems a rather poor use of Tenerife.
The UP! Club at Hotel Bitácora turns Friday evenings into a four-hour sunset session around the hotel's UP! pool area in Playa de las Américas, with resident DJ sets, drinks and access to the infinity pool from 18:00 to 22:00.
This is an adults-only event for over-18s, and you don't need to be staying at the Hotel Bitácora to join in.
The idea is simple enough. Arrive while there's still plenty of daylight, grab a drink, get into the pool if the mood takes you, then let the music carry things through sunset and into the start of Friday night. No need to wait until midnight before deciding you're having fun.
Tickets for non-hotel guests start at €15 including entry to the UP! area and one drink.
That included drink can be a standard mixed drink, beer, soft drink or water. Towel service is included too, which saves wandering through Playa de las Américas afterwards clutching a damp beach towel like somebody who's taken a wrong turn on the way home.
