Description
You'll see one photogenic village after another on this exclusive tour in the rugged northwest of Tenerife. You'll stop at some of the island's must-visits. Christian, one of our local experts, says: 'A guide will show you around the park of Icod de los Vinos and tell you all about the fascinating dragon tree that is 20 meters high'. You will also visit Santiago del Teide and the Teno Rural Park. And you can taste local specialties.
You will pass through Santiago del Teide, a perched village with whitewashed houses. In Icod de Los Vinos, you can admire the ancient dragon tree and have some time to yourself to wander around the town. In Garachico – also called the 'most beautiful and unhappiest' – you will discover the interesting history. This village was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1706 and was rebuilt on the lava. It is now especially famous for the natural lava pools and a volcanic rock castle that both locals and visitors like to visit.
Then you can relax with a local lunch, served in a family restaurant housed in a traditional finca. Teno Rural Park showcases the island's rich biodiversity and is known as the source of Tenerife's best natural products. You'll have the chance to sample local marmalades and jams, all produced with a minimal carbon footprint. The 'lost hamlet' of Masca is also on the program. This is one of Tenerife's most eye-catching spots with an impressive location on a ridge overlooking a valley.
