Description

Do you want to spend a different kind of afternoon in paradise? Leave the tourist areas behind and immerse yourself in the nature, culture and history of Tenerife with knowledgeable local guides. The first thing we'll do is pick you up at your place of residence or hotel, and then head to the midlands in the south of the island, where we'll find a completely natural and peaceful environment just 30 minutes from Las Americas. We'll first arrive in the vineyard area, known as the Trevejos plain, the largest expanse of organic vineyards on the island, where you'll taste 4 different wines and local cheeses. We'll continue our tour to the highest municipality in Spain, Vilaflor de Chasna, an ancient aboriginal settlement, owes its name to a legend involving a Castilian conqueror and a beautiful local woman. The village dates back to 1490 and is very unique and picturesque. Its economy is based on agriculture and livestock production. We will continue our tour towards 'El Teide', where we will visit different points of interest, such as the Cañadas, where the 'Roques de Garcia' geological formations dating from the eruption 3 or 4 million years ago are located, as well as some whimsical volcanic formations. We'll continue our tour through the Cañadas, visiting the vantage point of the 'Tabonal Negro', which is formed by a spectacular sea of lava and obsidian mines. Obsidian was used by the ancient settlers for knives and spear points, shaping and sharpening them. Then we'll head towards the southern slope and take the road to Chío to begin our descent, but not before visiting 'Las Narices del Teide', the last volcanic eruption in 1798 on the south side of the island, which lasted about 96 days, making it the longest historical eruption in Tenerife. After that, we'll enjoy a unique sunset and, if possible and weather permitting, 'the Sea of Clouds'. We'll then finish the excursion and head to your area of residence.
