Description

The route will start from the Plaza de Lorenzo Cáceres, in the center of Icod de los Vinos. Here you will find the Matriz de San Marcos church. We will also see the thousand-year-old dragon tree, famous for being the oldest of its kind in the Canary Islands. We will walk along cobbled streets lined with a variety of typical Canarian houses. These are large houses with lots of wood in the windows, doors, and balconies, the work of the old master craftsmen and carpenters of the time. We will see a lot of art when we enter the historic house of one of the important families of the town. We will visit the popular Malvasía wine museum... a winery with a dreamlike courtyard where you can sample some typical Canarian delicacies as well as wine at the end of the tour, if you wish. Nearby is the Casa del Drago, a house with a beautifully decorated outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the vegetation. I'll tell you more about it on the tour. We will continue along the shopping street to see a little more of the town until we reach an old convent with a long history. If it is open, we can go inside to see it. The tour is very entertaining and will also show you some other places around the old town. Don't miss it!
