Description
Experience an evening of astronomy in the heart of the Teide National Park, at an altitude of about 2,000 meters, under one of the most renowned skies in the world. As evening falls, you'll reach an observation area that's easily accessible by car, with parking generally available. In a small group, you will benefit from high-quality instruments and clear explanations to make the night sky accessible to all.
The session (about 1 hour and 30 minutes) begins with a discovery of the constellations with the naked eye, accompanied by the stories and mythology associated with them. You will learn to navigate the sky and to read real celestial 'landscapes', visible without any instruments when the conditions are right.
You will then move on to observing the Milky Way with binoculars, then with a telescope to explore more distant objects such as star clusters and nebulae. Depending on the time of year and visibility, you may also be able to admire spectacular details: the craters of the Moon, the cloud bands of Jupiter, or the rings of Saturn.
Throughout the evening, your guide will share an approach that is both scientific and contemplative: the birth, evolution, and end of stars, as well as the great principles of celestial mechanics that humanity understood very early on through observation of the sky. An immersive, poetic and educational experience, leaving you with concrete knowledge... and a wealth of memories.
