Description
This tour begins with a walking visit to the historic center of La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. You will then continue to Candelaria, the main pilgrimage site in the Canary Islands, known for its Basilica housing the Virgin of Candelaria, the archipelago’s patron saint.
Next, the tour heads to the Cliffs of Los Gigantes to view towering vertical volcanic cliffs along the coast, a notable natural formation. The itinerary then leads to Garachico, a town declared a Site of Cultural Interest by UNESCO in 1944, where you can see the revived old town and port buried by the 1706 Trevejo volcano eruption.
Afterward, the route proceeds to Icod de los Vinos, home to Drago Park and the Millennium Dragon Tree, an approximately 800-year-old National Monument symbolizing the Canaries. Here, you can observe the park’s endemic species alongside the ancient tree.
The tour concludes in La Orotava, classified as an Artistic Historical Site since 1976, offering well-preserved streets, historic churches, gardens, and local restaurants serving authentic Canarian cuisine.
