Description

Visit Teide National Park during the early evening hours and nourish your passion for astronomy under one of the three best starry skies in the world. The TEIDE AND STARS experience is an unforgettable night-time experience with transport included. It takes you to the base of Teide volcano where you’ll enjoy a fun and fascinating stargazing activity in a magical environment with official Starlight guides. Discover how the National Park transforms at sunset as you ascend through different layers of vegetation, from rural landscapes to high mountain plant life and pine forests. Enjoy a spectacular sunset from a fabulous viewpoint and then observe the stars through long-range telescopes with astronomy guides certified by the Starlight Foundation. They will reveal the Universe to you in a fun and educational way. It’s a unique experience that combines nature and astronomy under one of the clearest skies in the world for seeing the cosmos. It’s the best way to discover Mount Teide at night! What’s more, if you would like, you can add onto your excursion and change watching the sunset from a viewpoint for one of the two most exclusive activities on Teide. Option 1: Ticket to ascend and descend by cable car with sunset views from the trail to the Pico Viejo Viewpoint Before you go stargazing, ascend by cable car to an altitude of 3,555 metres and immerse yourself in a unique, volcanic landscape. Admire the majestic Las Cañadas caldera and impressive Teide volcano as the sun goes down, with outstanding views of the neighbouring islands of La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro. Return by cable car to the base station, where you’ll have time for a picnic-style Teide-Dinner, specially prepared for the occasion, before doing your astronomical observation. Option 2: Visit to Teide Observatory Visit the biggest solar observatory in the world in the late afternoon before going stargazing from the cable car base station. The Observatory has one of the best locations in the world for observing the skies and is equipped with fantastic, first-class telescopes. On the guided tour, you’ll experience astrophysics in a fun workshop, lean about the different projects carried out at the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics, observe solar flares and sunspots through a solar telescope, and explore inside a nocturnal telescope. Treat yourself to a magical afternoon on Mount Teide by adding one of these two options to your Teide and Stars experience. Choose your favourite option and enjoy Mount Teide at night like never before!
