Description
This is not the Masca Gorge or 'Barranco de Masca' hike. Instead,
embark on a picturesque alpine hike that explores a high undulating ridge with some short steep ascents that offer panoramic views of the laurel forest. Follow a path deep into the sub-tropical rainforest, one of the most important ecosystems on the island.
Then, just like magic, a mountain landscape appears that could be out of 'The Sound of Music' where you are given one of the most spectacular panoramic views the island has to offer. Minutes later, look down on the Masca Gorge and the pretty little hamlet of Masca.
On a clear day, enjoy a fabulous view of Mount Teide looming in the distance across the Santiago valley and the lava fields high above. Continue on easy footpaths through pine forest and descend majestically into a valley which is reminiscent of the English countryside.
