Description
The Masca Gorge offers one of the most impressive hiking experiences in Tenerife.
For a few years now, to ensure everyone can enjoy it, there's a limited number of spots available each day. Also, it's a demanding trail, not without risks, so it's highly recommended to be accompanied by an expert guide.
We've prepared a carefully organized, all-inclusive adventure tour for you, which includes admission and all the necessary details for an unforgettable experience. You can book the activity in Spanish, English, or German.
This adventure kicks off in Santiago del Teide, where we'll take a shuttle to the traditional village of Masca. From there, you'll start the 5-km descent through the Barranco de Masca, crossing dramatic landscapes until you reach a heavenly cove at the foot of the imposing Los Gigantes Cliffs, which soar 450 meters high. For safety reasons, swimming isn't allowed here right now. After a short break to enjoy the surroundings, we'll take a boat and sail back to the Los Gigantes Marina, enjoying unbeatable views of the coast. From the Marina, we'll head back to Santiago del Teide by taxi. This medium-difficulty activity combines the thrill of hiking with the tranquility of a relaxing boat ride, perfect for those seeking adventure and serenity.
Meeting place and time: Santiago del Teide, bus stop no. 4673, next to the Santiago del Teide square. It's a good idea to arrive a bit early. The recommended parking area is at the Santiago del Teide Cemetery (a 9-minute walk from the meeting point).
Duration: Hiking: 3.5 hours. Boat ride: about 20 minutes. Full activity with transfers: 5–6 hours approx.
Difficulty: Medium (hiking experience is recommended).
