Description
Join us on our 4-hour hike (7-8 km, +/- 500 m elevation) and discover why the Anaga mountains are one of a kind We dive into the mystical laurel forest – the so-called Laurisilva – with its lush, moss-covered trees, explore different types of laurel, and enjoy breathtaking views of valleys, gorges, and the wild north coast.
Along the way, you'll learn some interesting facts about Tenerife's volcanic history – the Anaga was formed around 7–9 million years ago years ago by volcanic activity – and get to know the indigenous people of the Guanches, whose traces have remained visible in ancient caves and remnants in the mountain villages
Starting point:
Casa Forestal bus stop
Equipment tips:
- Hiking boots: For a secure grip on the sometimes rocky, slippery ground
- At least 2 liters of water: To handle altitude differences of -/+500m.
- Wind and rain protection: since the mountains are often in the fog and sudden showers are possible
- Warm clothes: since we start at about 1,000 m, it can be much cooler than on the coast
- Hiking poles: You can borrow them from the guide if you need them.
Join us in exploring one of Europe's last untouched paradises - a UNESCO biosphere reserve, home to legends, plants, and animals you won't find anywhere else. I'm looking forward to a hike together, full of nature, history, and amazing views!
Just so you know, we won't be visiting the village of Taganana on this round trip.
Don't forget to bring weatherproof clothes, especially warm ones and rain protection, as the climate in the Anaga mountains can often be cool and humid. We also recommend bringing enough water to stay hydrated during the hike.
The tour usually goes ahead as planned, unless there's a force majeure, the island government shuts things down, or the guide cancels. The guide also reserves the right to flexibly adapt the route or the course of the hike to the weather conditions and the physical condition of the participants, to ensure the safety and well-being of all.
Heads up: If you don't show up without a good reason, we can only give you a refund in rare cases.
