Description
This guided hiking tour takes place in the Anaga Mountains, part of Tenerife's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It combines scenic drives, forest immersion, and mountain hiking, offering a balanced mix of adventure and landscapes with local insight into the island’s natural environment.
The tour starts with pickup from accommodations in southern or eastern Tenerife coastal areas, heading north towards the Anaga Mountains. After a drive through the forests and an introduction to the area's climate and landscapes, you begin a 25–35 minute scenic walk in the Enchanted Forest. Depending on cloud cover, views may include Mount Teide or the surrounding misty Laurisilva Forest.
Next, the group travels toward the main hike’s starting point, passing a small cliffside cave village partly carved into volcanic rock and still inhabited. The hike crosses forested hills and volcanic ridges, with varied terrain including rocky ridgelines, open slopes, and valleys, reaching a historic water channel mostly dry except after heavy rains.
Your guide shares regional stories throughout in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere. The group takes a picnic break on a hilltop or inside a large cave overlooking a canyon, depending on conditions and preference.
The final section features a short but steep climb, offering a rewarding challenge and memorable summit views. After the tour, 20–30 digital photos taken during the day are sent via WhatsApp as a memento.
This tour suits both experienced hikers and fit beginners comfortable hiking for several hours on uneven terrain with narrow paths. It is not recommended for those with fear of heights, vertigo, or low fitness levels.
