Description
Tenerife's trade winds pile the clouds into a flat white layer that sits over the island for much of the year. This tour takes you above it. From a viewpoint high in Teide National Park, at over 1,500 metres, you look down on that sea of cloud while the sun goes down onto it — not into a far-off horizon, but onto a floor you can almost touch.
You drive up to the meeting point in your own car, and we take care of the rest: a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, the best spot for the view, and a guide who tells you what you are looking at.
The setting is a national park that UNESCO listed as World Heritage in 2007 — a volcanic landscape of lava fields and mineral colours that shifts as the light drops. In the last half hour before sunset the rock turns from ochre to deep red, and the temperature falls with it.
The tour lasts an hour and a half and runs every day. We cap the group size so that everyone can enjoy the experience in comfort.
The tour starts and ends at the same viewpoint, which you reach in your own car. Once your booking is confirmed, we send you the exact meeting point.

Important Information
- What to wear:
- Warm, layered clothing and closed shoes are required all year. Sandals, flip-flops and sleeveless tops are not suitable
- High mountain:
- The tour is outdoors after sunset, at high altitude. Temperatures can change sharply compared with the coast
- No facilities:
- There are no toilets or restaurants at or near the meeting point.
- Self-drive tour:
- You need your own car. Public transport and taxis are not an option.
- Meeting point and time:
- After your booking is confirmed we send the exact meeting point by message, and we confirm the exact time on the day of the tour. Please disregard any other time on your ticket. If the confirmed time does not suit you, you can choose a full refund instead.
- Please stay reachable:
- Keep your phone, WhatsApp or email available on the day. In poor weather we may change or cancel the tour; you can then choose a new date or a full refund.
- Non-alcoholic option:
- Available instead of the sparkling wine on request.
