Embark on an exclusive hiking adventure in the Teno mountains, near Masca Gorge. This route connects two scenic trails for a comfortable journey, mostly shared with Canarian goats. Begin your trek in a pine forest, offering panoramic volcanic views as you ascend 200 meters. At 1300 meters, pause for photos of the Masca’s village and volcanos of Teide. As a reward, reach a unique viewpoint where you can take the best photos. Option Split: Choose Your Descent We continue our journey along the mountain ridge, delving deeper into the pristine, tropical Laurel Forest. This path offers a less strenuous, yet equally spectacular, experience, immersing you in a unique, lush ecosystem. For prepared hikers seeking a physical challenge, the tour continues with a steep descent towards Roque de Tarucho, reaching it after 90 minutes of hiking with scenic breaks. Hike down a secret trail that was recently discovered. On this route, you won't encounter anyone. Some of the descents will be steep, and occasionally, you'll need to use your hands for assistance. Throughout the entire descent, enjoy breathtaking views of the Teno Mountains and the famous road to Masca, known for its huge traffic jams. Be high above it all, and completely alone. The return hike takes approximately 90 minutes, following sections of old goat paths. Our route back offers a different perspective as we traverse through a neighboring gorge. The trek covers a distance of 7.5 km with an elevation gain of 450 meters. Witness iconic landscapes from unique vantage points, including an exclusive aerial view of Masca, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Teno mountains, all while avoiding crowded tourist trails.
