This is not a standard sightseeing tour. It is a flexible private route created to show you some of the most impressive contrasts of Tenerife: volcanic landscapes, dramatic mountain roads, historic villages, authentic local food and the natural beauty of the island’s north.
Depending on your pickup location, weather, traffic and timing, the tour can start from the south of Tenerife towards Masca, one of the island’s most spectacular mountain villages, hidden between deep ravines and dramatic cliffs in the Teno Rural Park. Visiting this area early in the day allows you to enjoy the scenery with more comfort and a better atmosphere, before the busiest hours.
From Masca, continue through the northwestern part of the island towards Garachico, officially listed among “The Most Beautiful Villages in Spain”. This historic town is one of the jewels of Tenerife, with a beautifully preserved old quarter, volcanic history, colonial architecture and natural lava pools shaped by the eruption that transformed its old harbour in the 18th century. Enjoy approximately one hour to walk through its streets, admire its traditional atmosphere and understand why Garachico is considered one of the most charming towns in the Canary Islands.
If time allows, the route may also include Icod de los Vinos, famous for its ancient Dragon Tree, before continuing towards the north of the island. Lunch is not included, but there may be the possibility to stop at a traditional guachinche or local restaurant, where you can enjoy authentic Canarian food and pay directly.
After lunch, the tour can continue through the La Orotava Valley and ascend towards Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain. The landscape changes completely as you enter one of the most impressive volcanic areas in Europe, with lava fields, viewpoints and extraordinary geological formations.
One of the most emblematic stops may be Roques de García, one of the iconic viewpoints of the national park, surrounded by volcanic scenery and impressive views of Mount Teide and the Las Cañadas caldera.
