Description
Enter the sea while the sun is still up. Stay underwater as daylight slowly fades, until you suddenly realise: it is dark, and the world around you is revealed by torchlight. That transition is the heart of Sea Wolf Scuba's signature full moon dive.
Full moons have inspired tales of restless minds, strange behaviour and witches gathering in the night. Folklore, of course—but a little moonlit mystery sets the scene. Our theatre is real: Tenerife's volcanic coast, the fading light and the quiet atmosphere of a night dive.
Brian, a British PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, collects you from your accommodation along the South Tenerife coast from Callao Salvaje to Golf del Sur and selects a shore site suited to the evening's sea conditions. After checking your certification, recent diving experience and medical readiness, he guides you through a full safety briefing and equipment setup, including your dive light.
You enter in daylight rather than beginning in darkness. The change happens gradually around you, with approximately the last half of the dive spent in darkness with torchlight. Explore the volcanic underwater landscape and look for nocturnal marine life as the atmosphere changes. Wildlife sightings and visibility of the moon are not guaranteed; this is a torchlit dive, not a promise of underwater illumination by moonlight.
Exclusively for divers certified to Open Water level or above. Bring proof of certification. The route, depth and dive time depend on conditions, diver experience, air consumption and instructor judgement.
Hotel pickup and return within the stated area, scuba equipment, professional supervision and insurance are included, with digital photos or video when conditions allow. Departures run only on the listed full moon dates.
Allow approximately 2.5 hours for the full experience. Pickup and entry times follow the sunset, rather than the daytime diving schedule, and are confirmed before your dive. Pickup outside the stated area may be possible by prior arrangement and is not guaranteed.
