This traditional procession is considered the oldest Romeria of Tenerife, beginning more than 100 years ago.

On the 7th September The religious pilgrimage takes the figure of the Virgin Mary to the Volcano of El Socorro and down to the beach where the image was first found by Guanches - the oldest known habitants of the islands. A theatrical recreation of the discovery is re-enacted.

On the 8th the Virigin is taken back to her place in the church and another mass is celebrated. Traditional folk music and dance is hosted throughout the two days.
